How to Log In to cPanel
Go to your cPanel address, usually https://yourdomain.com:2083, and sign in with your cPanel username and password. If that page doesn't open, or your domain doesn't point to us yet, open a support ticket and we'll tell you the right address.
Applies to: cPanel Blue Arctic Shared Web Hosting (cPanel)
On this page
cPanel is the control panel for your Shared Web Hosting account. You use it to manage your website files, email addresses, databases and settings. You sign in with your cPanel username and password at a secure web address.
Note
Your cPanel login is not the same as your Client Portal login. The Client Portal is where you manage billing and support tickets; cPanel is where you manage the website itself.
Step 1: Have your login details ready
- Find the login details we sent when your hosting account was set up. Search your inbox, and your spam folder, for your domain name.
- Keep them open while you sign in.
If you don’t have your cPanel username and password, open a support ticket from the Client Portal and ask us to send your hosting account details again.
Step 2: Open your cPanel address
Your cPanel address is usually https://yourdomain.com:2083. Put your own domain in place of yourdomain.com, and don’t add www. The :2083 at the end is a port, a numbered entrance on the server that cPanel uses.
If that page doesn’t open, or your domain doesn’t point to us yet, open a support ticket and we’ll tell you the right address.
- Open a web browser, such as Chrome, Safari, Edge or Firefox.
- Type your full cPanel address into the address bar, including
https://and:2083, then press Enter. - If you see a short One moment, please… page, wait a few seconds. It’s a security check, and the login page opens next.
- Check that the login page opens without a security warning. If the browser warns that the connection isn’t private, stop here and see Troubleshooting below.
Step 3: Sign in
- In the Username box, type your cPanel username. It isn’t your email address or your Client Portal login.
- In the Password box, type your cPanel password. Passwords are case-sensitive, so check that Caps Lock is off.
- Click Log in.
Step 4: Enter your verification code (only if you turned it on)
Two-step verification adds a second check: a one-time code from an authenticator app on your phone. You only see this step if two-step verification is turned on for your cPanel account.
- Open your authenticator app.
- Type the code it shows for cPanel.
- Confirm the code to finish signing in.
If you’ve lost access to your authenticator app, open a support ticket.
How to tell it worked
The cPanel Dashboard opens. A menu on the left lists sections such as Websites, Email and Files, and there’s a search box at the top. New accounts may first be offered a guided setup; you don’t need it to finish signing in.
Tip
To change your cPanel password once you’re signed in, click the account (avatar) icon in the upper-right corner, then click Profile. Use the Change Password section. You’re signed out afterwards, so sign in again with the new password.
Troubleshooting
- The login page says your login is invalid: the username or password doesn’t match. Use your cPanel username, not your email address or your Client Portal login. If you pasted the password, check that no extra space came with it, or let your password manager fill it in.
- Your domain address opens a different site, another company’s page, or nothing at all: your domain still points somewhere else, or a recent DNS change hasn’t reached your network yet. DNS changes usually finish within 48 hours, and sometimes take up to 72. Open a support ticket and we’ll tell you the right address to use until then.
- The page never loads or times out: some office, school, hotel and public Wi-Fi networks block port 2083. Try another network, such as your phone’s mobile data. If it still won’t load from any network, open a support ticket.
- The browser shows a security or certificate warning: don’t continue past the warning, and don’t type your password. Open a support ticket with the exact address you typed, and we’ll tell you the right address.
- You’ve forgotten your cPanel password: open a support ticket from the Client Portal and ask us to reset it. Never put a password you want to use in the ticket.
- The page stopped loading after several wrong passwords: stop trying for now. Open a support ticket, say roughly when it happened, and include your public IP address (search the web for “what is my IP” to see it).
Still need help?
Open a support ticket from the Client Portal at my.bluearctic.com (see how to open a support ticket). Include your domain, your cPanel username, the exact address you typed, the exact error or warning text, and what you already tried. Never include your password.
